Time : From July 25 to 29, 1950 (Five days)
Location : The Vicinity of the railway tracks at Nogun-ri Hwanggan-myeon Yeongdong-gun Chungcheongbuk-do. (225 Kilometers southeast of Seoul)
Estimated Casualties : 250 ~ 300 people.
Chronology
Around noon, on July 23, 1950 : People at Jugok-ri village were ordered to evacuate, and moved to seek shelter at Imgye-ri village.
Evening of July 25, 1950 : A group of 500¢¦600 people, including villagers from Imgye-ri, Jugok-ri and elsewhere, were led by American soldiers to move out and head for the south.
Night of July 25, 1950 : Under instructions from American soidiers, the refugees spent the night in the open along the stream at Haga-ri village.
Around noon, on July 26, 1950 : The refugees, traveling the No. 4 road, reached Seosongwon village and were told by American soldiers to move onto the parallel railway.
Around noon, of July 26, 1950 : American planes bombed and strafed the refugees group on the railway, killing a large number of refugees.
From the afternoon of July 26 to the morning of July 29, 1950 : American troops fired their machine guns at refugees taking shelter under the twin railway tunnels and killed a large number of refugees.
